Giga-corporation

A giga-corporation, often referred to as a gigacorp, is an enormous privately-owned commercial entity that operates on a global or solar system scale and controls vast portions of one market or several. These entities are among the most powerful institutions in Vexian society, often far more influential than obsolete traditional governments, with a level of financial and infrastructural dominance that makes them central to the functioning of the planet's economy and daily life.

Gigacorps gave birth to the concept of hypercapitalism, the operating ethos of the Post-Sovereign Economic Phase (PSEP).
