The MegaRegion of Velv, (Velv MR's epicenter formerly known as the City of Velv, the former Eos Collective's most populous city), is the largest MegaRegion and the most populous urban agglomeration in the continent of Eos; it is also considered the most populous agglomeration in the entire planet of Vex. As of 2368, the population of the MegaRegion of Velv eclipsed 450 million. Its administrative landmass is largely accepted to be 270,405 square kilometers, making it one of the most densely populated regions on Vex. Geographically, Velv MR represents approximately 10% of the former nation-state Eos Collective's total land area (2.7 million square kilometers).

Velv has 250 generally accepted distinct districts, each with its own operating ethos. Conflicts due to overlapping district boundary claims are common.
The gigacorp VantaCorp owns and operates 186 of the 250 districts of Velv MR, making it one of the most influential gigacorps in the MegaRegion, and by extension, one of the largest and most powerful gigacorps in all of Vex. VantaCorp’s corporate charter calls for all 186 districts to adhere to its Velv MR Generally Accepted Operating Standards (GAOS). The remaining 64 districts of Velv MR are owned and operated by various other gigacorps. However, due to the influence of the Velv MR GAOS, the majority adhere to the operating standards enforced by VantaCorp, including address codes, zoning, road networks, and maintenance services.

Velv is the domicile for a significant number of gigacorps. The history of the MegaRegion boasts The Eos 4, largely considered the first ever gigacorps and the harbingers of the Post-Sovereign Economic Phase (PSEP). Cybus Corporation, one of The Eos 4, eventually purchased and developed the MegaRegion of Cybus in the western portion of the continent of Eos.
As of 2368, Velv is majority owned and controlled by Vanta Corporation, commonly known as VantaCorp, another member of The Eos 4. However, there are hundreds of other gigacorps who own and operate districts of Velv.
There are constant skirmishes between Velvian gigacorps. Overlapping district borders and different administrative standards have given way to conflicts among millions of inhabitants. A far-reaching area of contention is the address coding system. Several gigacorps vie for control over valuable districts, which leads them to enforce their own standards for things like addresses, road networks, rail, and even air traffic.
Escalating tensions resulting from uneven codifying standards has spawned armed conflict both inside and outside of Velv.
